Samsara Temple FAQ

Before You Come

What do I do before I come?

To participate in any of the offerings by Samsara Temple, you’ll need to read thoroughly, do your research, and pre-purchase a ticket. Samsara is a mobile temple based in Kansas City, MO, hosting events in multiple venues around the world. Each event description includes specific details — read it from beginning to end. Some spaces have additional vetting requirements.
We do not offer online or digital classes at this time.

Where are events held?

Samsara Temple is rooted in Kansas City but travels. Some events happen at our home temple, others in partner venues or private spaces. For privacy and safety, addresses are sent only after ticket purchase.

Is there a vetting process?

Some events — particularly sensual or play-focused ones — include a short vetting form or conversation. It’s not about gatekeeping; it’s about ensuring everyone understands consent, safety, and expectations.

What should I bring?

Bring a water bottle, your ID, and whatever helps you feel comfortable: snacks, journal, blanket, barriers, toys, altar items. Read each event page for specifics. Most importantly, bring an open mind and respectful energy.

What should I wear?

Arrive fully clothed. Once inside the Temple space, clothing is optional unless otherwise stated. Dress to the occasion — if an event calls for formalwear, please respect it.

Consent & Safety

Let’s talk consent.

Enthusiastic, informed consent is queen in the realm of Samsara Temple. You must always have a clear, verbal conversation before any touch occurs — yes, even cuddles. Violations result in immediate removal and permanent bans.

“No” means no. It’s not personal; it’s sacred.
Find your words, ask for what you want, and communicate clearly. We’ll help if needed.

How are you keeping me safe in a sexual environment?

We create BRAVE spaces, not just “safe” ones. Our founders are present at every event, providing checks and balances.
All participants are vetted and the venues we partner with run names against the National Sex Offender Registry.
We do not tolerate consent violations or predatory behavior. Ever.

What’s this bracelet system?

Each participant chooses a wristband indicating their comfort level:

  • RED: No touch / solo experience. Do not disturb.

  • YELLOW: Maybe open to touch — conversation first.

  • GREEN: Open to touch with clear consent discussion.

Some events permit only manual touch; others allow full sexual expression with barriers. Each event’s details specify the boundaries.

What if something feels off or unsafe?

Tell a Temple Fae or Founder immediately. They are trained to de-escalate, support, and maintain consent culture. You will be heard, believed, and supported.

Substances & Consumption

Can I bring or use substances?

In Missouri, cannabis is legal — but that’s not an invitation to get sloppy. We honor it as a sacred plant ally.
If you partake, do so mindfully and only in the designated smoking area (smoking corner with the air filter).

Absolutely no alcohol is allowed at Samsara events. Intoxication, belligerence, or unsafe behavior will get you escorted out.
Simple rule: don’t be a dick. Respect yourself, the space, and everyone in it.

Participation & Play

I’m a single cis-male. Can I come too?

Absolutely. We welcome all genders and identities.
As a single cis-male, you hold a special privilege being invited into a sacred, consent-based space — and we’ll expect you to model respect, self-awareness, and listening.
This is a fuckboy-free zone. Don’t hover, don’t stalk, don’t be a douchenozzle. Be cool, be kind.

What if I’m not kinky or sexual — just curious?

You’re still welcome! Not every event is sexual. Many are focused on ritual, meditation, connection, and education. You decide your level of engagement; observation and curiosity are valid forms of participation.

What is “Open Play”?

“Open Play” is the portion of some evenings where connection, creativity, or sensual exploration are allowed — within strict consent boundaries. It’s not an orgy; it’s a respectful container for expression.

What are Temple Temple Fae?

They’re our trained support team — equal parts safety staff, emotional anchor, and consent referee. Fae wear loose hoods; find one anytime you need grounding or help.

Logistics

What happens if I show up late?

Doors close shortly after event start time to preserve the container. If you’re late, you may not be admitted. Arrive early, hydrate, and settle in.

Is parking or accessibility available?

Most venues have free street parking and accessible entrances. Event descriptions will list accessibility info. Let us know if you need specific accommodations.

Can I leave early?

Yes. You’re sovereign. If you need to step out or go home, do it quietly and respectfully. Return any borrowed temple items before leaving.

Are photos or videos allowed?

No. Absolutely no photography or filming during events without written consent from everyone present. This includes selfies.
We occasionally host designated content nights for creators — check listings for those.

Emotional Care

What if I get triggered or overwhelmed?

It happens — this work touches deep layers. Step into a sensory zone, find a Fae, or take a break outside. You’re not alone; your comfort matters more than participation.

I’m a ball of nerves about this and I want to come.

Totally normal. Nervous often means your soul is paying attention. Check in with your “why” — curiosity, growth, pleasure — and let that guide you. Ask questions, bring a friend, breathe. You’re safe to be exactly who you are.

What if I don’t know anyone?

Perfect. You’ll meet plenty of kind, open people. We design our openings with icebreakers and grounding exercises so you can connect at your own pace.

Spirituality & Culture

What are the spiritual beliefs of Samsara Temple?

As an organization, we identify as Pagan, but our founders each hold unique spiritual perspectives. Our focus is on community, self-worship, and embodied spirituality — through shadow work, meditation, art, and yes, sometimes sex magick. Orgasmic energy is one of our tools for transformation, not our goal.

Do I need to be Pagan to attend?

Nope. People of all paths — religious, agnostic, atheist, or uncertain — are welcome.
We honor the sacred in all its forms and center authenticity over dogma.

What’s the difference between a Ritual, a Wednesday Temple, and a Play Night?

  • Rituals: Seasonal, ceremonial, following the Pagan Wheel of the Year.

  • Wednesday Temples: Weekly community gatherings — workshops, socials, meditations, or sensual explorations.

  • Play Nights: Structured sensual or BDSM-friendly containers with clear boundaries and consent systems.

Ethics & Inclusion

What’s your approach to diversity and inclusion?

Samsara is proudly queer-led, body-positive, trauma-informed, and neurodivergent-friendly.
All races, genders, bodies, and abilities are welcome. Discrimination of any kind is not.

Why do you charge for events?

Your ticket supports facilitator pay, venue costs, accessibility equipment, supplies, safety staff, and community development. We price fairly and offer sliding scales or work-trade when possible.

What’s your confidentiality policy?

Everything shared in the temple stays in the temple. No gossip, no screenshots, no retelling someone else’s story without explicit permission.

Practicalities

Do you provide safer-sex or hygiene supplies?

Yes — we stock gloves, condoms, wipes, and sanitizer, but you’re expected to bring your own and use them responsibly. Clean up your station before you leave.

Can I bring gifts or altar offerings?

Yes! Small items like flowers, crystals, or notes are welcome. No open flames or wax, please.

Are there age limits?

All events are 18+ unless otherwise noted. Bring valid ID.

What happens if I violate a rule or consent boundary?

Immediate removal, permanent ban, no discussion. Our priority is the safety of the collective.

Can I volunteer or get involved?

We love that. Volunteers help with setup, cleanup, and consent support. Ask a Fae, Founder or fill out the form here.

Integration & Aftercare

What is “the drop”?

After deep ritual or play, your body and emotions may shift. You might feel tired, sad, or flat. That’s normal — it’s your system integrating. Drink water, rest, write, talk, and be gentle with yourself.

What is Aftercare?

Aftercare is the act of tending to yourself or others after intensity — cuddles, hydration, grounding conversation, or quiet space. Ask for what you need; offer what you can.

How can I integrate after an event?

Read our Integration Guide for full details. In short: rest, hydrate, breathe, and give yourself grace. You’re not broken — you’re expanding.

Tickets & Policies

Can I get a refund if I can’t attend?

No full refunds. However, we offer a one-time continuance — you can roll your ticket to the next similar event once. After that, it expires.

Do you have a code of conduct in one sentence?

Yes: Don’t be a dick.
Respect yourself, respect others, respect the space.
